Leonardo Horse

This tile was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's magnificent 24-foot-tall equestrian sculpture design. The work was never completed in Leonardo's lifetime, having been destroyed before it was cast. Sculptor Nina Akamu was hired to design from Leonardo's drawings and cast it in more than 50 pieces. Two exist today and can be seen at the Frederik Meijer Garden & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and in Milan, Italy at the site planned for the original sculpture.
